🛠 Basic rules for employees in Korea :
1)Contract must be in writing. It must include: position, wage, schedule, workplace, vacation.
Keep your copy.
2)Payment not less than the current minimum wage. Night shifts (22:00–06:00), weekends/holidays, and overtime are paid
with a premium (usually +50%).
3)Working hours: standard - 40 hrs/week + up to 12 hrs overtime by agreement. For 15+ hrs/week - a weekly
paid day off is due.
4)Leave: annual paid leave based on length of service; sick leave and maternity leave - according to law/insurance.
5)4 insurances (pension, health, unemployment, industrial accident). The employer arranges these and reflects deductions in the payslip.
6)Salary on time and according to the payroll. Keep transfers, schedules, correspondence.
7)Termination: usually 30 days' notice or compensation. 퇴직금 (severance pay) - for 1+ year of service and 15+ hrs/week.
8)It is forbidden to withhold a passport/ARC and to take "штрафные депозиты".
9)Check visa restrictions (F-4, H-2, etc.) - some visas have prohibitions on certain types of work.
