❓Can foreigners apply for the coupon?
- In principle, no – the coupon is intended to support citizens' income and stimulate consumption.
But exceptions are possible:
1) A foreigner registered in a household with at least one Korean citizen and enrolled in national health insurance (primary, dependent, or beneficiary).
2) Even if the entire family consists of foreigners, individuals with F-5, F-6, F-2-4 visas can receive the coupon provided they are enrolled in health insurance.
❓I am temporarily abroad. Can I receive the coupon?
-Yes, if you return to Korea between June 18 and September 12, 2025, and confirm your return, you can file an objection and receive the coupon.
⚠️Important: you must apply by September 12 (Friday), 6:00 PM.
❓Who can apply?
-(Online) Only the recipient themselves (adult), in their own name. Minors (born after January 1, 2007) – through the head of the household.
-(Offline) Cards – at the bank, in the recipient's name. Prepaid cards and paper coupons – at the community center. Application by proxy is possible.
Required documents: identification, power of attorney, and proof of kinship (if a duplicate).
❓Until when can the coupon be used?
-The coupon must be used by November 30, 2025 (Sunday). After this date, any remaining balance will be forfeited.
❓Where can and cannot consumer coupons be used?
Large supermarkets and department stores
❌Usage is not permitted in large supermarkets (E-Mart, Lotte Mart, Homeplus, etc.) and department stores, as it does not align with the goal of supporting local small businesses.
✅However, in leased spaces within large retail locations where small business owners operate independently (e.g., hair salons, pharmacies, flower shops, etc.), usage is permitted.
❌SSMs (corporate supermarkets) are not eligible for coupon usage, regardless of whether they are branches or franchises.
Convenience stores (편의점)
Franchise stores (CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, Emart24, etc.):
❌Directly managed branches are not permitted for coupon usage,
✅Franchises with an annual turnover of less than 3 billion won are permitted for coupon usage.
⚠️Warning regarding expensive items
To prevent misuse when purchasing expensive items that do not align with the program's objective (e.g., major brand electronics, gold bars, etc.):
Citizens are also advised to refrain from purchasing expensive items from foreign or major brands that do not fall under the scope of supporting small businesses.
