Notice of restricted scope of employment activities for overseas compatriot status (F-4).

An updated list of activities restricted for individuals with an F-4 visa in Korea will take effect on 02.02.2026.

The Minister of Justice, in accordance with the "Regulation on the Introduction and Management of Instructions and Regulations," 
is required every 3 years, starting from January 1, 2023 (until December 31 of the corresponding third year), to review the 
validity of this notification and take measures to improve or amend it.

○ In connection with subparagraph 1 of paragraph 3 of Article 23 of the Enforcement Decree of the "Immigration Control Act":

Overseas Koreans (F-4) who:

have a place of residence in one of the population reduction areas designated in subparagraph 12 of Article 2 of the 
"Act on Decentralization and Balanced Regional Development," and

reside in a county, city, or district included in the region-specialized visa program designated by the Minister of Justice, and

engage in the work activities specified in paragraph 1 a or b within the relevant metropolitan city or 
province,

➡️ are not subject to restrictions on work activities 
(however, restrictions on activities that violate public morals and order remain).

For your convenience, I have added profession codes to the content. You probably didn't pay attention to these codes 
and numbers in documents when applying for a visa before. But now that we all need to notify online about changes in work activities, you can refer to the list of professions, which can be checked on the kssc.kostat.go.kr website.
