-You are 18 years of age or older;
-You are registered in the foreigner registry of the local government at your place of residence in Korea.
🗓If you are busy on the main election day, you can vote in advance during the early voting period.
Early Voting:

From 06:00 to 18:00
Main Election Day:
June 3, 2026 (Wed)
From 06:00 to 18:00
📑Why are several ballots issued?
In local elections in Korea, a voter receives multiple ballots because several local government representatives are chosen at the same time.
⛪️Who is being elected in the 9th Unified Local Elections?
1. Provincial Governor / Metropolitan City Mayor - 시·도지사
For example: Governor of Gyeonggi-do, Mayor of Seoul, Mayor of Busan.
This person is responsible for managing the entire region or a major city.
2. Head of City, District, or County - 구·시·군의 장
For example: Mayor of a city, head of a district, or head of a county.
They are responsible for more local issues: district services, infrastructure, local programs, and the work of the local administration.
3. Regional Council Members - 시·도의회의원
These are members of the provincial or metropolitan city council.
They approve the local budget, make decisions on regional issues, and oversee the work of the administration.
4. City, District, or County Council Members - 구·시·군의회의원
These are council members at a more local level.
They deal with issues concerning a specific city, district, or county.
5. Superintendent of Education - 교육감
They are responsible for school education in the region: schools, educational programs, students, and teachers.
❗️Important: You can only vote once.
You can choose either early voting or main election day voting. If you have already voted early, you cannot vote again on June 3.
